As the rain pours down outside, I couldn’t help but make a quick post about my love for rain.
Reasons why I love the rain:
The smell
Its sound
The empty streets
Using an umbrella
Cuddling by a fire
Drinking hot cocoa {possibly with baileys}
Today was not a good day over here in Virginia land. I ended up getting my mouth all sliced up at the doctor’s office, then with an ice pack in my mouth on my way back to a big meeting at the office I backed into someone at the gas station….SWELL day. In an effort to end on a high I am posting my smile summary.

I am so excited for my new navigation bar and social media links that I just had to share with its own post! Being the total non-techy person that I am, I couldn’t figure out how to place the code…Thank goodness for the wordpress forum! The nicest guy ever spent almost four hours walking me through it all, playing with different ways of changing the code, and voila!
So thankful for nice people! Hope you enjoy the new{ish} look almost as much as I do.
My hubby never wants to do anything for his birthday {except a dinner date…which barely counts to me}, so this year when he said he wanted to do something big for his 30th I jumped at the opportunity! I cannot wait to do something amazing! I have been racking my brain for ideas and am pretty stumped. Here are some themes I have been throwing around. Ahhh so much to think about. Do you have any great ideas?
Nautical yacht party? An outdoorsy fiesta? A bow tie and oxford preppy shindig? A good old fashion Western style bbq? Ah I need ideas! Send some my way–pretty please.

With almost a month left until Valentine’s Day I am already feeling inundated with hearts & love…ooo lala.
Except, Valentine’s Day is my least favorite of the big holidays. Maybe its because I am blessed with a hubby who always treats me special, makes me dinner and lets me gift to myself year round, but V-day seems a bit trite to me. My thought is why spend dinner on bad service, busy restaurants and over priced flowers?
I will still send some valentines out, do some baking and try not to be a total Valentine’s day grinch. Maybe a heartsy cheesy dinner party with dear friends is in order….hmmm.
