Around the first of November I had many friends on facebook and blogs I read begin their November “Days of Thanksgiving”. For every day of the month they posted one thing they were thankful for, I thought this was a great idea, and started my own. A couple days into it I realized most of my days were about my hubs. After the month was finished I realized my list making of “thankfulness” wasn’t really about Thanksgiving for me, as it was more of a wonderful reminder of how lucky I am to have my husband. It has almost been five years since we started dating and this exercise was the perfect reminder of why I fell so madly in love with him in the first place. So here it is, a couple weeks late, but all the things that make me love and hopefully never take for granted my best friend.
- Gets up early 99% of the time to take our hairy beast of a dog for a morning walk
- Makes me dinner almost every night…and amazing dinners at that! He is my own personal chef!
- Loves running errands with me just to spend time together
- Doesn’t mind my frivolous girly things
- Takes a walk with me every night to talk about our days
- Puts up with my family…the good and the not so good
- Since I got my new job every Friday I come home to a clean home!
- Works so hard to build a future for us
- Planner of the Century Award. Although my quick decisiveness is annoyed at times it always works out to our benefit when he plans
- Loves taking me to nice dinners
- Knows just how to calm me down when I get crazy
- Allows me to leave my clothes in giant piles all over the bedroom until Friday when he folds them all
- He is a saver and encourages me to do the same
- Texts me all throughout the day, even if its just to say I love you
- Watches chick flicks with me with just a tad of complaining
- Wrestles our dog till we are all laughing
- He is so smart and always wanting to learn
- Makes me coffee in the middle of the day
- He is a self teacher and such the handyman
- Loves his own family so much, and mine too
- Pretends to not like babies so our families don’t ask me when we will have one..uhoh secret is out.
- He lets me vent and complain
- Wants to explore new things together
- He is SO patient
- Super sexy. Especially running around the house in his bday suit..hehe. He is gonna kill me for writing that.
- Doesn’t stay mad and forgives easily.
- Asks me to cut his hair.
- Wants the best for us and is always striving for more.
- Gives the best backrubs
- And lastly, after a few drinks has the best dance move (yes only one) that makes me laugh every time!
Some days are easier than others, but in light of being honest, relationships are hard work and keeping a list of all the amazing things is a wonderful reminder of all the love and happiness we bring each other! And a huge thank you to my hubs for putting up with me. You are one of a kind.

This is wonderful. You have one amazing husband who gives and gives for you. What a guy! This needs to be framed and reread often because in the hustle and bustle we too easily forget the great gifts we have every day. Love this!
As a mother it is a blessing to know her son is married to a wonderful person who loves and appreciates him and one who bring him great happiness.
Wow … Virginia, this is really touching, I loved reading it. Jeff is a lucky and blessed man to have you in his life, and I’m so happy you have a husband who expresses his love to you so well. And … you two are the cutest couple together!!!
Keep celebrating each other, and enjoy every moment! <3
